School Uniform

We encourage all children to take pride in their appearance and expect all children to wear the school’s uniform.

The school uniform creates a sense of belonging for our children. It promotes a sense of pride and self-confidence and studies have shown that it contributes to children’s wellbeing, as it removes the pressure of deciding what to wear and of meeting the expectations of what their peers are wearing. Having consistent uniform is something that creates a sense of identity across the school and  provides a sense of community amongst the children and further develops their understanding of the learning journey across their time at Albemarle.

Our current uniform includes

  • White polo shirts to be worn in every year group (except Year 6).
  • Year 6 to wear a white shirt (long or short sleeved) with a school tie (provided by the school).
  • Optional fleece jackets and a waterproof school coat are available to purchase from Stitch design.
  • Dark grey or black school trousers in the Autumn and Spring Terms with the option to wear Charcoal shorts in the Summer Term.
  • All girls to wear either a charcoal pinafore dress, charcoal pleated skirt or charcoal trousers. There is an optional summer dress for the summer term.
  • Black school shoes.

All children in Key Stage 2 (Upper School) should have a junior backpack. Children in Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 (Lower School) should have a book bag (available from school).

We also expect that long hair (below shoulders) is tied up, and that the only jewellery worn in school is stud earrings. Albemarle school coats are optional.

Our current PE kit includes:

  • All children to wear sky blue PE T-Shirt.
  • All children to wear navy PE shorts.
  • All children to wear PE Training Top.
  • All children to wear PE Training Pants.
  • All children to wear white sports socks.
  • All children to wear appropriate trainers to allow them to take part in a range of sports and activities.
