On 1st September 2014, Albemarle became a two form entry Foundation Primary school, with a nursery and welcomed 60 children to Reception. Prior to this date, Albemarle had been a one-form entry School.
Over the last two years, Albemarle has undergone a major transformation. Located on the borders of Southfields and Wimbledon in South West London, Albemarle is situated on two sites which are separated by a road.
In 2015 the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Nursery and Reception, site was demolished to make way for a new state of the art Lower School, which opened in September 2015 and accommodates the EYFS and Key Stage 1 (KS1) Years 1 and 2.
The Upper School site now accommodates Key Stage 2 , Years 3 to 6 .
The Upper School site also accommodates the Albemarle Community Education ‘ACE’ building. This was formerly used by the school and local community and has now been transformed into teaching spaces for classroom use. Seahorse Nursey recently opened their Day Nursery at the rear of the ACE building
The current school roll has increased from 240 and is currently 326, including Nursery which has a capacity of 26 Full Time Equivalent (FTE). The school roll will increase by 30 each year until it is completely two-form entry in 2020.
As a school, we are very excited about the expansion. We feel proud to be in a position to extend Albemarle and provide additional school places for children in the local community.
We hope you will enjoy being a part of the next phase of Albemarle's journey.
