In Year 6 staff build on the excellent work of previous years. Children consolidate and extend their learning through the art of questioning and become reflective independent learners.
Through developing a wide range of skills and the ability to draw upon a number of qualities, children leave Year 6 happy and prepared for the next phase of their journey.
Each year in May, children throughout England and Wales sit in Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs) in reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling (new for 2013) and mathematics. For children who demonstrate a higher academic level, schools have the choice to administer level 6 versions of these tests. Results are reported to parents and are published by the Department of Education.
